Night Vision for BMW

Driving in the dark becomes a more relaxing experience with BMW Night Vision. This optional system reveals objects 3 to 4 times farther than the headlight range, thanks to an infrared camera that transmits images to the Control Display. BMW is the world's first carmaker to offer person detection globally. Intelligent algorithms look specifically for pedestrians shown in yellow in the video. Should the system detect any danger to individual persons, the driver receives an additional warning on the Control Display or optional Head-Up Display.

BMW Dynamic Light Spot Function uses Autoliv's night vision thermal imaging camera to detect objects in the road. Not only does the camera identify human pedestrians, but it also highlights animals that could be alongside roads, such as deer.
